Assistant Store Manager responsible for driving sales, managing store operations, supervising staff, and ensuring compliance with company policies and visual standards.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities- Produce sales gains by providing excellent customer service.
- Meet or exceed company objectives in all individual sales statistics.
- Provide consistent, documented appraisal of associates’ sales performance, offering feedback and support.
- Maintain visual guidelines: proper merchandising, signage, and store cleanliness.
- Maintain a professional appearance consistent with the company dress code policy.
- Protect company assets within Lids Retail policy guidelines.
- Assist in preparing store schedules that provide proper coverage and adhere to wage control guidelines.
- Follow all policies to manage inventory accurately, including receiving, transferring, price changes, and conducting product counts.
- Perform proper documentation and record‑keeping per Lids Retail policies and state/federal laws.
- Open and close the store as required following operational procedures.
- Support and adhere to all Lids policies, procedures, and guidelines.
- Participate in Lids Training Programs and adhere to set sales and task goals, with regular follow‑up.
- Assist in recruiting and training store personnel on proper operations and procedures.
- Encourage direct compliance of associates with established company policies, procedures, and guidelines.
- Perform subordinates’ work as needed.
- Communicate with employees at all levels of the company.
- Other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent plus one year of related experience.
- Established ability to produce sales results while minimizing loss.
- Strong interpersonal skills and clear verbal communication.
- Ability to operate a computer and related software programs.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to climb a ladder and work with hands overhead.
- Standing required for up to 100% of the work time.
- Ability to work unsupervised.
Assistant Store Managers can earn up to 25% above local minimum wage based on experience. Compensation may vary by skills, experience, and location. Assistant Store Mangers PT are also available for monthly store sales bonuses and a 40% employee discount.
EducationHigh school diploma or equivalent plus one year of related experience.
