Job Summary
Professional Sales Representative responsible for driving store sales, building long‑term customer relationships, and supporting the Design program. Earn an average base pay of $55K+ annually with uncapped commissions and additional bonus opportunities.
Key Responsibilities- Sell furniture, accessories, and services, contributing to store sales goals.
- Promote the Design program and assist the Designer to achieve established sales goals.
- Execute the La‑Z‑Boy selling process, providing a favorable customer experience.
- Develop and utilize sales skills, including approach, rapport building, needs discovery, customized portfolio presentations, objection handling, closing, follow‑up, after‑sale service, and ongoing contact with customers.
- Maximize store promotions, marketing initiatives, and grassroots programs.
- Maintain strong knowledge of existing and new product lines.
- Schedule professional home consultations and present customized room designs with samples.
- Support design‑related functions in the store.
- Provide high‑level customer service to all customers, ensuring a positive experience via the company selling process.
- Use Podium to maintain customer satisfaction and future follow‑up.
- Handle phone and email customer inquiries and resolve issues.
- Assist in training, coaching, and developing peers on product knowledge and selling process.
- Maintain store visual appearance, floor and showroom displays, and general cleanliness.
- Accurately complete and submit On‑Point system logs, orders, deposits, fees, customer records, and deliveries.
- Schedule deliveries and coordinate opening/closing of the store.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Previous selling experience with strong closing skills preferred.
- Excellent communication, customer service, and organizational skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills; ability to build rapport and influence.
- Demonstrated persuasion and negotiation skills.
- Time‑management and ability to handle conflicting priorities.
- Teamwork and ability to work the schedule dictated by business needs, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Initiative and motivation to meet assigned goals and objectives.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Ability to pass a background and drug screen.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business or a related field.
Ability to lift or carry up to 50 pounds; stand for long periods; repetitive hand motions; hearing and listening; occasional sitting, walking, bending, and stooping; inside environmental conditions.
Pay & BenefitsTraining Pay: $16 per hour (2–6 weeks, no commission).
Base Pay after training: $13 per hour (varies by location).
Commission:
Uncapped; 3% on Design sales, 2% on other sales.
Quarterly bonus opportunity of $1,500 based on individual sales goals.
Base plus commission will be adjusted to meet or exceed local minimum wage requirements.
Benefits:
Medical, Vision, Dental, Basic Life Insurance; 401(k) with up to 6% company match; 9–11 paid holidays; two weeks prorated vacation; paid time off and sick leave as applicable.
The role may require travel or driving. Candidates must meet the qualifications specified in the company’s Driver Management Program.
