Position Summary
The role is responsible for the operation of a department and includes additional job‑related duties as assigned. The individual ensures compliance with company policies, safety regulations, and environmental guidelines while controlling costs, managing vendor relationships, and overseeing maintenance activities.
What You’ll Do- Operate, inspect, and maintain heavy machinery, powered equipment, and vehicles, performing pre‑operation safety checks and post‑operation inspections.
- Coordinate and schedule seasonal exterior maintenance activities such as snow and ice management, de‑icing, and winter preparedness.
- Control company costs by conducting price comparisons of parts, equipment, and travel‑related expenses; submit warranty claims and expense vouchers.
- Prepare and execute budgets for requested and planned projects, approve purchases of parts, materials, equipment, and supplies, and verify purchase receipts and acceptance.
- Lead third‑party providers, coach staff, conduct performance evaluations, and conduct quality assurance inspections.
- Provide customer service by communicating with facility users, resolving complaints, and ensuring a clean, safe, and healthy work environment.
- Evaluate current and future replacement needs, implement upgrades for sustainable operations, and reduce on‑hand stock through standardization.
- Gather capital expenditure lists and develop scopes of work to update existing assets, including landscaping and seasonal maintenance tasks.
- Maintain and service vehicles, ensuring all required documents are available, fuel and water levels are adequate, and vehicles pass inspections.
- Adhere to company policies on ethics, compliance, and the Open Door Policy, and assist management with corrections of compliance issues.
- Carry out all duties in a manner that respects diversity, promotes belonging, builds trust, and fosters continuous improvement.
- 21 years of age or older.
- Valid state‑issued driver’s license.
- No convictions for DUI, DWI, OUI, or reckless driving involving alcohol or drugs within the last three (3) years.
- No more than two (2) moving violations in the last three (3) years if driving a commercial motor vehicle.
- No serious traffic violations or preventable accidents in the last three (3) years if operating a commercial motor vehicle.
- Successful completion of a DOT physical and medical certification pre‑hire.
- Ability to read and speak in English as required by section 391.11(b)(2) of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations.
- Two years’ experience in the landscaping/gardening industry.
- Successfully complete a DOT physical and secure medical certification during pre‑hire and maintain a minimum of a 90‑day Medical Examiner’s Certification (MEC) card.
- Associate’s degree or equivalent in Engineering, Maintenance, Construction Management, or a related area.
- Experience in third‑party management.
- Experience using intermediate level functionality of word processing, spreadsheet, email, and presentation software (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Proficiency in speaking and understanding Spanish.
- State or local licensing where required.

HourlyWage Range
$19.00 – $35.00 per hour, subject to applicable minimum wage requirements. Premiums may apply based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed.
