REPORTS TO: Bluejay Nest Director

JOB GOALS: To help provide a smoothly functioning class environment in which students can take full advantage of the instructional program and available resource materials.

PAY GRADE:
Grade 3:$9.30 and $14.80.
Grade 6:(60 college hours) $10.80 - $16.30

• Direct care of children.
• Manage classroom activities.
• Ensure children learn positive behaviors and are provided with guidance and approved discipline.
• Set schedules and routines for grooming, feeding, changing diapers, and cleaning the room and toys.
• Develop and encourage age-appropriate learning and socialization to ensure children acquire basic skills and concepts, such as communication, manners, and sharing.
• Maintain a safe workplace by monitoring children for health, behavioral, and emotional issues and reporting concerns to staff and parents.
• Participate in the development and implementation of lesson plans.
• Help with classroom arrangement.
• Provide parent communication and family engagement.
• Provide program development and evaluation.
• Performs such other tasks and assumes such other responsibilities as the principal or teacher may assign from time to time.

Must obtain and maintain CPR/First Aid certification requirements and participate in state-mandated professional development.

Same as the school calendar, including professional days.
