Position: Industrial Painter Starting At 26/hr

Industrial Painter

This role is responsible for applying industrial coatings to manufactured products while consistently meeting quality standards, adhering to safety requirements, and supporting production schedules in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The position requires hands-on experience in an industrial paint shop and a strong commitment to workplace safety and teamwork.

Responsibilities

  • Apply industrial coatings to manufactured products using spray guns and other appropriate equipment while meeting production schedules.
  • Perform paint preparation activities such as cleaning, masking, sanding, and surface prep to ensure proper adhesion and finish quality.
  • Measure paint thickness and viscosity, including wet film and dry film measurements, to ensure coatings meet specified requirements.
  • Follow all safety procedures and use required personal protective equipment (PPE) when working with paint chemicals and related materials.
  • Read and interpret material safety data sheets (MSDS/SDS) and follow all handling, storage, and disposal guidelines.
  • Inspect finished products for coating quality, coverage, and defects, and make necessary adjustments to maintain high standards.
  • Maintain a clean and organized paint booth and work area to support safety and efficiency.
  • Support preventive maintenance activities on paint equipment as needed to ensure reliable operation.
  • Collaborate with team members and communicate effectively to coordinate workflow and meet production goals.
  • Work efficiently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and adapt to changing production priorities.

Essential Skills

  • Industrial paint shop experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience applying industrial coatings using spray guns.
  • Ability to measure paint thickness and viscosity, including wet film and dry film measurements.
  • Strong understanding of safety procedures and PPE requirements related to industrial painting.
  • Knowledge of paint chemicals and the ability to read and follow MSDS/SDS documentation.
  • Strong safety mindset and consistent adherence to safety practices.
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
  • Self-motivation with the ability to meet production schedules.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Previous overhead crane operation experience.
  • Previous forklift and material handling experience.
  • Preventive maintenance (PM) inspection experience.
  • Experience with industrial paint, sandblasting, and surface prepping.
  • Familiarity with powder coating processes.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints related to coating requirements.
  • Experience with spray painting and coating applications in an industrial setting.

Work Environment

The role is based in a clean, semi climate-controlled manufacturing facility designed to support both safety and comfort. The standard schedule is Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 3:45 p.m., with overtime available in the mornings before the start of the regular shift when needed. The environment is fast-paced and production-focused, with regular use of industrial painting equipment, spray guns, and material handling tools such as overhead cranes and forklifts where applicable.

Employees are expected to follow all safety protocols and wear appropriate PPE in the paint shop and production areas.

This is a Permanent position based out of Guthrie, OK.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $55286.40 - $55286.40/yr. Health, dental, vision. 401K. vacation/PTO. raises every 6 months. all major holidays off.

This is a fully onsite position in Guthrie, OK.
