Director of Rehabilitation

Schedule: Full-Time
Compensation: $95,000-$115,000 annually, depending on experience
We are seeking an experienced Director of Rehabilitation to lead a newly established inpatient rehabilitation program in Guymon, Oklahoma. This is an exciting opportunity to build and lead a therapy department from the ground up while continuing to provide patient care in a hospital setting.
The ideal candidate is an experienced Physical Therapist with strong leadership skills, a passion for developing therapy programs, and a commitment to delivering exceptional patient outcomes.
Qualifications:
- Licensed Physical Therapist required
- Hospital and/or outpatient leadership experience preferred
Additional Incentives
- Up to $12,000 Career Bonus over your first three years, which may be used for a sign-on bonus, retention bonus, student loan repayment, or professional development.
- $1,000/month housing stipend for six months.
The Director of Rehabilitation oversees the daily operations of the rehabilitation department while also providing direct patient care. This individual is responsible for department leadership, staff development, budgeting, quality improvement, program growth, compliance, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality therapy services.
Essential Responsibilities- Lead and oversee daily rehabilitation department operations.
- Recruit, train, mentor, supervise, and evaluate therapy staff, students, and volunteers.
- Ensure appropriate staffing levels and efficient department operations.
- Develop and manage departmental budgets.
- Monitor quality assurance initiatives and maintain required documentation.
- Prepare departmental reports and implement corrective action plans when needed.
- Identify opportunities to expand therapy services and develop new programs.
- Lead department meetings, educational sessions, and staff in-services.
- Oversee therapy documentation and compliance audits.
- Assist with insurance authorizations and reimbursement processes.
- Provide direct patient evaluations, treatment, and ongoing care as needed.
- Maintain accurate documentation in accordance with state and organizational requirements.
- Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to coordinate patient care.
- Develop evidence-based treatment protocols and clinical best practices.
- Respond promptly to referrals and maintain positive relationships with referral sources.
- Promote exceptional customer service with patients, families, providers, and staff.
- Coordinate employee education related to compliance, communication, and clinical quality.
- Oversee equipment maintenance and supply inventory.
- Improve department efficiency while maintaining high-quality patient care.
- Manage therapist scheduling to maximize productivity and patient access.
- Foster strong working relationships with hospital leadership, physicians, therapists, patients, and caregivers.
- Ensure compliance with all organizational policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate patient billing questions with appropriate accounting staff.
- Assist with insurance provider agreements and renewals.
- Ensure clinician credentialing requirements remain current.
- Maintain compliance with payer contracts and organizational policies.
- Interview, hire, train, coach, and mentor staff.
- Conduct performance evaluations.
- Delegate work effectively while maintaining accountability.
- Address employee concerns and resolve workplace issues.
- Promote a positive, collaborative, and high-performing team culture.
- Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree in Physical Therapy.
- Current Physical Therapist license required
- Five or more years of Physical Therapy experience preferred.
- Previous rehabilitation leadership or management experience strongly preferred.
- Experience leading multidisciplinary therapy departments is highly desirable.
