Senior Financial Accountant

Overview

Our client is a leading direct-to-consumer online services organization with a team with national reach and 3000+ employees! They are seeking a Senior Accountant to join their corporate accounting department in a forward-facing, high-visibility role reporting directly to the Controller.

This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional who is ready to take ownership of complex financial processes while contributing to strategic business decisions!

You bring 5+ more years of progressive accounting experience, with a strongly preferred background that combines Top 10 public accounting experience in audit or assurance with one to two years of corporate accounting experience. We are looking for professionals capable of operating independently and bring demonstrated drive and initiative to a role that blends both accounting and finance responsibilities!

• Lead the month-end close process for assigned lines of business, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and preparation of financial statements
• Ensure accurate revenue recognition in full compliance with GAAP standards
• Prepare and analyze key financial metrics and revenue trends, presenting findings directly to business leadership
• Review and interpret insurance carrier data, including contracts, commissions, and policy activity
• Reconcile general ledger accounts and support consolidated company financial reporting in partnership with the broader accounting team
• Develop, document, and continuously enhance monthly close procedures and internal controls
• Prepare audit schedules and liaise with external auditors
• Identify workflow improvements and contribute to cross-functional process initiatives

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting required
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience; must have some previous public accounting experience
• Strong GAAP and revenue recognition expertise
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Demonstrated cross-functional collaboration
