Job Description
- Prepare, review, and sign federal and state tax returns including Forms 1040, 1065, 1120S, and 1120
- Lead partnership tax compliance for private equity and hedge fund structures
- Review and analyze K‑1 allocations, capital accounts, basis calculations, and investor reporting
- Deliver year‑round tax planning and strategic advisory services to investment and business clients
- Review staff‑prepared work for technical accuracy and compliance quality
- Mentor, manage, and develop junior tax and accounting professionals — guiding workflow, providing technical coaching, and delivering performance feedback
- Handle IRS and state notices and manage client correspondence
- Serve as a trusted primary contact for all client tax matters
- Uphold CPA professional standards and internal firm policies
- Active CPA license or EA designation (required)
- Willingness and ability to sign tax returns
- 7+ years of tax experience in public accounting
- Strong knowledge of partnership taxation, small business, and individual tax
- Experience with private equity, hedge funds, or investment partnerships
- Spanish fluency (required)
- Strong analytical, organizational, and client‑service skills
- Ability to independently manage multiple engagements and competing deadlines
- Preferred: experience with carried interest, waterfalls, blocker entities, and complex allocations
- Preferred: familiarity with multi‑state and investor reporting
- Preferred: proficiency in Ultra Tax, Lacerte, Pro Series, or Drake
