Movement Disorder Specialist

The Department of Neurology at Hackensack University Medical Center (HUMC), a major academic medical center within the Hackensack Meridian Health system, seeks to employ a full‑time BE/BC Movement Disorder Neurologist. The successful candidate will have completed a residency in Neurology and a fellowship in Movement Disorders. Faculty rank at the School of Medicine is commensurate with experience. They will join three adult and one pediatric movement disorder neurologists and two functional neurosurgeons.

We feature interprofessional programs for HiFU, NPH, fast‑track‑to‑DBS and advanced care for Parkinson’s. We seek candidates with interest in outcomes research, clinical trials, translational research, and teaching of medical and graduate students and residents. The Department espouses an interprofessional approach in which neurologists, neurosurgeons, neuro/health psychologists and rehabilitation therapists who are cognizant of health‑care disparities strive to provide patient‑centered care, accurate diagnoses, state‑of‑the‑art treatment, opportunities for clinical trials and to maximize community living.

Florian P. Thomas, MD, PhD, Professor & Chair of the Neuroscience Institute & Department of Neurology. The position is mostly outpatient with no more than four weeks annually of inpatient service.
