Position Summary
Hackensack University Medical Center (HUMC), a Joint Commission certified Comprehensive Stroke Center, seeks a full‑time Vascular Neurologist. Candidates must have completed a Neurology residency and an ACGME‑accredited fellowship in Vascular Neurology.
Key Responsibilities- Provide inpatient and outpatient stroke care, including management of large vessel occlusions, intracerebral hemorrhage, and subarachnoid hemorrhage.
- Collaborate with a stroke unit staffed by Advanced Practice Nurses (APNs) and participate in night call via telemedicine support.
- Conduct outpatient stroke clinic consults and follow‑up for discharged patients.
- Deliver neurology and stroke training to medical students and resident physicians.
- Engage in clinical and translational research within the Neurosciences clinical research unit.
- Excellent clinical skills in vascular neurology.
- Fellowship trained in Vascular Neurology.
- Board Certified in Neurology and Board Certified or eligible in Vascular Neurology.
- Licensed to practice in New Jersey (physician, DEA, CDS).
- Track record of teaching medical students and residents.
- Track record of scholarship.
- Eligibility for a faculty appointment at Hackensack Meridian School of Medicine; faculty rank commensurate with experience and publication record.

The stroke unit sees roughly 900 admissions annually, supported by neurosurgical, interventional neuroradiology, and neurocritical care teams. Compensation& Benefits
Base salary: $333,931 (minimum base for the position). Total compensation package includes health, dental, vision, tuition reimbursement, and retirement benefits.
