Description

To plan and facilitate preventive youth development programming that fosters a sense of competence, usefulness, belonging, and empowerment in high school students. Programming and activities that promote healthy lifestyles, positive social interaction and may include preventive, vocational, educational, service learning, academic support, and recreation.

Qualifications
  • Earned at least a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, Child Development, or related fields.
  • 3‑5 years of experience with the adolescent population, preferably in a high school setting.
  • Excellent integrity and good moral character with initiative.
  • Enthusiastic and interpersonal skills to relate well with students, staff, administration, parents, and the community, including challenging and emotional situations.
  • Ability to work harmoniously in a multicultural diverse community.
  • Demonstrated aptitude and competence for assigned responsibilities.
  • Proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident alien status and required criminal background check.
  • Health adequate to fulfill job functions and reasonable accommodation pursuant to 42 U.S.C. 12101 and N.J.A.C. 6:3-4A.4.
Working Conditions

School Based Youth Services Program grant;
Hackensack Drop‑in Center located at Hackensack High School; 12‑month;
Full‑time 8 am–4 pm Monday–Friday.

Salary

Grant Funded.
