About This Role
Join Our Team! We are seeking a passionate and dedicated individual to fill the role of Float Assistant Teacher. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating a nurturing and stimulating environment that fosters the growth and development of children. Key responsibilities include assisting the lead teacher in implementing lesson plans, managing classroom behavior, and promoting literacy and math skills among students.
This role is ideal for someone with experience in a licensed child care center and who is passionate about working with young learners.
We offer part‑time hours of 7:00–1:00, 8:00–1:30 PM, or 12:00–6:00, allowing for a great work‑life balance. Join our team and make a meaningful impact on the lives of young learners!
Key Responsibilities- Supervise students during classroom activities, eating times and outside experiences to ensure safety and engagement.
- Collaborate with the lead teacher to assess student progress and adapt teaching strategies as needed.
- Provide assistance with math concepts through hands‑on activities and guided practice.
- Maintain a clean and organized classroom space conducive to learning.
- Assist the lead teacher in planning and implementing engaging lesson plans that align with curriculum standards.
- Manage classroom behavior effectively, ensuring a positive learning environment for all students.
- Support childhood development by encouraging students’ social, emotional, and cognitive growth.
- Strong skills in lesson planning, literacy education, childcare, special education, and math instruction.
- Experience in behavior management techniques to support diverse learning needs.
- Knowledge of childhood development principles and best practices in education.
- Early Childhood Education or a related field is preferred.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with students, parents, and staff members.
- A genuine passion for working with children and contributing positively to their educational experience.

- Minimum of 2 years working in a NJ licensed child care center or preschool.
- CDA in early childhood education.
