Anticipated Part-Time Paraprofessional Positions for the 2026/2027 School Year

Location:

Any District school or program.

Terms of Employment / Fringe Benefits: 10-Month, Part-Time;
Sick & Personal Time;
Pension Plan

Hours / Work Year: 5.75 hours per day / 28.75 hours per week; 183 days

Compensation (No health benefits will be offered):

  • $26.50, per hour
  • $152.37, per diem
  • $27,884.00, annual

Nature and Scope of Job

Provides assistance to the teacher in any and all tasks regarded as necessary in the conduct of a class both in and outside of the classroom and school building.

Responsibilities
  • Assist the teacher with classroom, administrative, and instructional tasks as needed.
  • Support student engagement and behavior management under teacher supervision.
  • Prepare materials and set up instructional activities as directed.
  • Maintain a positive learning environment and communicate with students, staff, administration, parents, and the community in a professional manner.
Qualifications
  • Have a high school diploma, a minimum of sixty (60) undergraduate college credits or pass Praxis Para Pro test.
  • Have integrity and demonstrate good moral character and initiative.
  • Exhibit a personality that demonstrates enthusiasm and excellent interpersonal skills to relate well with students, staff, administration, parents, and the community.
  • Have excellent organizational skills.
  • Demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing, using proper grammar and vocabulary.
  • Demonstrate aptitude and competence for assigned responsibilities.
  • Provide proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident alien status and required criminal background check.
  • Provide evidence that health is adequate to fulfill the job functions and responsibilities with reasonable accommodation pursuant to 42 U.S.C. 12101 and in accordance with N.J.A.C. 6:3-4A.4
