Per the HEA/HBOE Agreement.

Qualifications
  • Must have appropriate NJ Teacher of Students with Disabilities and valid NJ Preschool through Grade 3 certification.
  • Have experience in teaching and working with children.
  • Have integrity and demonstrate good moral character and initiative.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of child growth and development, effective instructional strategies, classroom management, learning assessment and diagnosis, and research related to learning.
  • Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of the content field when holding a content specific teaching responsibility on the elementary level.
  • Exhibit a personality that demonstrates enthusiasm and interpersonal skills to relate well with students, staff, administration, parents, and the community.
  • Demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing, using proper grammar and vocabulary.
  • Demonstrate the ability to use electronic equipment for word processing, data management, information retrieval, visual and audio presentations, and telecommunications.
  • Demonstrate aptitude and competence for assigned responsibilities.
  • Provide proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident alien status and required criminal background check.
  • Provide evidence that health is adequate to fulfill the job functions and responsibilities with reasonable accommodation pursuant to 42 U.S.C. 12101 and in accordance with N.J.A.C. 6:3-4A.4.
Responsibilities
  • Foster a nurturing and trusting academic environment in the classroom.
  • Implement lesson plans that align with NJPTLS and Creative Curriculum in the delivery of daily academic instruction.
  • Develop and implement differentiated instruction that correspond to IEP goals and objectives.
  • Document and analyze student performance data for progress monitoring purposes.
  • Implement behavior modifications for both the whole class and individualized plans.
  • Apply the district and schools' mission and vision.
  • Utilize technology effectively in daily lessons.
  • Assist students with toileting and hygiene practices.
  • Collaborate with administrators, CST members, related service providers, and other support staff to provide optimal student learning opportunities.
