The appointed teacher will be responsible for implementing ABA strategies and programs, including discrete trials.
Qualifications- Appropriate State of NJ Teacher Certification K-5 and Special Education endorsement (TOSWD or TOH).
- Previous experience working with young children, particularly in an ABA classroom or clinical setting.
- Strong understanding of ABA principles and techniques, including discrete trial training, naturalistic teaching, and behavior management strategies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, parents, and other stakeholders.
- Patience, compassion, and a genuine passion for working with children with special needs.
- Knowledge of the Essential Elements.
- Bilingual/Spanish a plus.
- Develop and implement individualized ABA programs for students with diverse needs and abilities.
- Conduct assessments and collect data to track progress and make informed decisions about program adjustments.
- Collaborate with other teachers, therapists, and support staff to ensure a cohesive and integrated approach to student learning and development.
- Create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes positive behavior and social-emotional growth.
- Communicate regularly with parents/guardians to provide updates on student progress and collaborate on strategies for home and school.
- Stay up-to-date on best practices and research in ABA and early childhood education to continuously improve teaching methods and outcomes.
- Implement ABA curriculum and strategies including discrete trial instruction.
- Exhibit structured classroom management.
