Job Summary:- Implement the curriculum as aligned to New Jersey Student Learning Standards;
- Utilize second language development theory, comprehensible input and output and apply it to daily instruction in four language domains;
- Differentiate academic and linguistic instruction for students at varying levels of attainment;
- Prepare and implement lessons that provide meaningful learning experiences for students;
- Exercise open and respectful communication with families, co-workers, supervisors, and other school staff;
- Measure progress and accomplishments of students towards their academic achievements on a regular basis and provide progress reports as required;
- Prove a safe, thriving, and respectful environment for all students in the classroom and on the school campus;
- Create a stimulating, and aesthetically welcoming, organized, functional, healthy, and safe classroom;
- Perform non-instructional duties with timeliness and accuracy;
- Attend professional development sessions in order to further advance professional practice;
- Continue to grow professionally through collaboration with colleagues and professional growth experiences;
- Maintain a reflective teaching practice.
- New Jersey ESL and Bilingual Certification required;
- Familiarity with the use of instructional technology and differentiated instruction;
- Knowledge of effective/creative instructional strategies;
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, flexibility;
- Ability to collaborate with colleagues.
