About the RoleWe are looking for a PSA SCADA Engineer to join our EMS Reliance Services team, focusing on the development, integration, and support of advanced SCADA/EMS solutions for power system operations. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in EMS platforms and a strong background in real-time, mission-critical environments. This role involves working on high-availability systems that enable reliable energy management and control, ensuring operational excellence for utility and transmission networks.
Key Responsibilities- Design, develop, and implement SCADA/EMS applications and components within the EMS platform environment.
- Execute full lifecycle development, including feature enhancements, system integration, and maintenance of real-time control applications.
- Perform rigorous testing activities such as Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), integration testing, and on-site commissioning.
- Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues to maintain system reliability and uptime.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (controls, networking, communications) for seamless system integration.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation, configuration management, and testing protocols.
- Provide direct technical support to customers, addressing issues, and delivering system improvements.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives and assess emerging technologies for SCADA/EMS applications.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
- 7+ years of experience in SCADA, EMS, or real-time application development.
- Hands‑on experience with EMS platform systems (mandatory).
- Strong proficiency in UNIX/Linux (AIX, Solaris) and Windows environments.
- Programming expertise in C, C++, SQL, and shell scripting.
- Knowledge of real-time data acquisition, system integration, and communication protocols.
- Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills for complex environments.
- Strong communication skills for interfacing with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to travel occasionally for site testing and commissioning.
- Experience with version control tools (e.g., Clear Case, Git) and change management processes.
- Familiarity with SCADA networking protocols (DNP3, ICCP, Modbus) and real-time databases.
- Background in power grid operations, energy transmission, or utility systems.
- Detail-oriented with a process-driven approach.
- Self‑motivated and capable of working independently or in collaborative teams.
