Reports To: Senior Civil Engineer / Project Manager / Township Engineer
Position Overview: We are seeking a motivated and detail‑oriented Junior Civil Engineer to support our engineering team in the planning, design, and construction of public infrastructure projects. This entry‑level position is ideal for recent graduates or individuals with 0–3 years of experience in civil engineering, who are looking to gain hands‑on experience in municipal and/or private sector projects.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in the preparation of design plans, technical reports, specifications, and cost estimates for civil engineering projects (e.g., roads, drainage, water/wastewater systems, site development).
- Conduct field inspections and site visits to monitor construction progress and ensure compliance with approved plans and specifications.
- Perform basic engineering calculations under the supervision of senior engineers.
- Assist in preparing permit applications and documentation for regulatory agencies.
- Draft construction drawings using AutoCAD or Civil 3D.
- Support the review of contractor submittals, RFIs, and change orders.
- Maintain project records, logs, and documentation.
- Collaborate with internal departments, consultants, and contractors to ensure successful project delivery.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
- 0–3 years of experience in civil engineering or construction (internships/co‑ops count).
- EIT (Engineer‑in‑Training) certification or ability to obtain within 6 months preferred.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel locally for site visits.
- Knowledge of local, state, and federal regulations related to civil engineering projects.
- Familiarity with GIS, Stormwater Management, and NJDEP permitting (or applicable local equivalents).
- Experience with construction administration and inspection.

Transportation Infrastructure EngineerLocation: Hackensack, NJ

Summary: Develop designs from concept through final design for transportation infrastructure, including roadway widening, parking lots, pedestrian, bicycle, and mass transit facilities.
Key Responsibilities- Plan alteration or modification of existing transportation structures to improve safety or function.
- Evaluate transportation systems or traffic control devices or lighting systems to determine need for modification or expansion.
- Investigate traffic problems and recommend methods to improve traffic flow or safety.
- Model transportation scenarios to evaluate the impacts of activities such as new development or identify possible solutions to transportation problems.
- Design or engineer drainage, erosion, or sedimentation control systems for transportation projects.
- Design or prepare traffic plans for new roadways or improvements to existing roadways.
- Prepare project budgets, schedules, or specifications for labor or materials.
- Master’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or related field with 1 year of experience in the field.
- Proficiency with ArcGIS, Synchro, Aimsun, AutoCAD, Micro Station, Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe Illustrator, Earth Cam, TACTICS, and Quickbase.
- Familiarity with NJDEP permitting and local regulations.
