Position Overview: We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Civil Engineer to support our engineering team in the planning, design, and construction of public infrastructure projects. This entry-level position is ideal for recent graduates or individuals with 0–3 years of experience in civil engineering, who are looking to gain hands‑on experience in municipal and/or private sector projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation of design plans, technical reports, specifications, and cost estimates for civil engineering projects (e.g., roads, drainage, water/wastewater systems, site development).
- Conduct field inspections and site visits to monitor construction progress and ensure compliance with approved plans and specifications.
- Perform basic engineering calculations under the supervision of senior engineers.
- Assist in preparing permit applications and documentation for regulatory agencies.
- Draft construction drawings using AutoCAD or Civil 3D.
- Support the review of contractor submittals, RFIs, and change orders.
- Maintain project records, logs, and documentation.
- Collaborate with internal departments, consultants, and contractors to ensure successful project delivery.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
- 0–3 years of experience in civil engineering or construction (internships/co-ops count).
- EIT (Engineer‑in‑Training) certification or ability to obtain within 6 months preferred.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel locally for site visits.
Preferred
Skills:
- Knowledge of local, state, and federal regulations related to civil engineering projects.
- Familiarity with GIS, Stormwater Management, and NJDEP permitting (or applicable local equivalents).
- Experience with construction administration and inspection.

Construction Inspection InternPosition Overview: An entry‑level role focused on on‑site engineering inspections.
Responsibilities:
- Carry out construction inspection assignments.
- Interface with the Contractor to ensure all construction is done according to plans and specifications.
- Coordinate with utility companies that may have facilities within the job site.
- Coordinate with regulatory agencies and understand their requirements.
- Identify problems and propose solutions.
- Utilize standard quantity recording and reporting procedures.
- Handle overall inspection of small projects with limited direction/instruction from supervisor (projects to be in North Jersey).
Qualifications:
- Civil or Construction engineering undergrad in senior year or graduate student.
- Knowledge of ADA curb ramp is a must.
- Strong written, oral, communication, organizational skills required.
- Valid driver license required; must have a car.
- Proficient in MS Word and MS Excel.
- Knowledge of AutoCAD.
