Private Equity Finance – Operations

The Private Equity Finance – Operations group is responsible for all aspects of fund administration operations related to Blackstone’s private equity funds. The group also supports the private equity deal teams and internal marketing groups.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work closely with deal teams, fund counsel, tax advisors, and portfolio company (PC) management on investment transactions and support.
  • Manage responsibilities and assignments delegated to the junior NY and offshore teams.
  • Liaise with the fund accountants on deal transaction accounting for GAAP financial statements.
  • Manage the investment closing/sale funds flow process alongside the deal teams.
  • Work with the technology team to improve automation and reporting of manual processes.
  • Review capital call and distribution memos.
  • Prepare and review internal reporting to the COO and Senior Leadership on fund metrics and dry powder schedules.
  • Liaise with investors.
  • Forecast PC cash‑flow and fund capital call needs.
  • Read and interpret Limited Partnership Agreements (LPAs).
  • Monitor fund LPA limits and deal certificate compliance.
  • Manage capacity on the funds’ credit lines as well as borrowing base compliance and covenants.
  • Oversee the creation and maintenance of fund and investment structure charts and KYC/AML letters.
  • Manage custody with third‑party vendors, share/stock reconciliation, and proxy voting processes for fund investments.
  • Liaise with external and internal auditors.
  • Manage the expense process and ensure compliance with LPA and firm policies.
  • Assist with special projects and internal ad hoc requests as needed.
  • Additional responsibilities may be assigned as required.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • CPA preferred.
  • 6+ years of public accounting, private equity fund accounting, or private equity fund operations experience.
  • Willingness to travel periodically to New York.
  • Strong technical accounting skills.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills.
  • Detail oriented with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Proficiency in building relationships and communicating effectively across multiple levels, functions, and regions.
  • Ability to work autonomously and be a self‑starter.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint) required.
  • Ideal candidates demonstrate a commitment to excellence, strong time‑management skills, and a desire to learn.
  • Some roles may require securities licenses if engaged in client‑facing activities or marketing of Blackstone funds.
Compensation & Benefits
  • Expected annual base salary range: $130,000 – $200,000 (based on experience, skills, qualifications, and job location).
  • Additional compensation and benefits include comprehensive health benefits (medical, dental, vision, FSA), paid time off, life insurance, 401(k) plan, discretionary bonuses, and potential equity or incentive compensation.
