The Dietitian will be assigned to specific in- and out-patient care areas to provide nutritional services in accordance with established standards and regulations. This position involves managing diet offices, supervising nutrition assistants, and providing patient-centered nutritional care.

Responsibilities

  • Identify patient needs and modify care accordingly, considering age, culture, language, and impairments.
  • Assess patients' nutritional status and ensure adequate nutrition.
  • Review medical records for relevant information.
  • Interview patients and/or caregivers for nutritional assessment.
  • Develop, document, implement, and evaluate nutrition care plans.
  • Counsel patients and families on nutritional principles and plans.
  • Develop and evaluate educational programs for patients and staff.
  • Interpret physicians' diet orders and initiate diet plans.
  • Write specific diet orders upon receiving RDN privileges.
  • Maintain competency and quarterly requirements for order writing privileges.
  • Collaborate with healthcare team members on nutritional care.
  • Coordinate with nutrition assistants regarding patient menus.
  • Evaluate food distribution for quality and compliance.
  • Participate in research and data collection projects.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution, meeting dietetic didactic requirements.
    • Excellent communication skills.
    • Proficient in computer skills, including MS Office or Google Suite.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Clinical experience in acute care.
    • Knowledge of Health Touch or EPIC electronic nutrition systems.

    Licenses and Certifications

    • National registration and ongoing continuing education credits.
