Equipment Technician, Neonatal ICU (NICU) – Part‑time Evening shift (3:15 pm – 11:45 pm), Hackensack University Medical Center, Hackensack, New Jersey;

The Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) Equipment Technician maintains equipment, including assembly, cleaning, and inventory, with a focus on mechanical ventilators and patient oxygen usage and record‑keeping. The role ensures equipment availability and compliance with infection control standards.
Responsibilities- Cleans and assembles mechanical ventilators and prepares them for calibration.
- Cleans, assembles, and checks all minor therapeutic and diagnostic equipment and makes them available for use.
- Performs inventory of disposable supplies, orders necessary supplies from the storeroom, and coordinates the stocking of disposable respiratory therapy supplies. Refers inventory of non-storeroom supplies to the supervisor.
- Maintains and cleans all equipment used for deliveries and restocks it in compliance with infection control standards and stores equipment safely.
- Maintains inventory of essential supplies.
- Maintains a clean supply storage area according to New Jersey Department of Health and Senior Services regulations.
- Keeps manager/supervisor informed of equipment/supply needs.
- Adheres to the standards identified in the Medical Center’s Organizational Competencies.
- High School diploma, general equivalency diploma (GED), and/or GED‑equivalent programs.
Minimum rate of $19.33 hourly. Compensation is benchmarked against market data and may vary based on experience, education, and other non‑discriminatory factors. Additional benefits include health, dental, vision, paid leave, tuition reimbursement, and retirement benefits.
