Position: Flight Paramedic (Full-Time)

The Flight Paramedic provides high quality out-of-hospital advanced life support including assessment, triage, and treatment utilizing standards and guidelines established by the Medical Director(s) within the paramedic scope of practice. The Flight Paramedic assesses the nature and extent of illness and injury to establish and prioritize the care needed for safe transport of the critical patient to the appropriate facility; maintains validated competency to provide care for patients across the life span;

responsible for carrying out the mission and goals of the air medical program, assuring that safety remains the highest priority.

Education,

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
  • High School diploma, general equivalency diploma (GED), and/or GED equivalent programs.
  • Able to practice as a paramedic as defined by NJ Office of EMS (NJAC 8:41 & NJAC 8:41A)
  • Minimum of 3 years paramedic experience (4000 hours) in a 911 system as an ALS provider
  • Flight Paramedic's maximum weight with equipment must not exceed 240 pounds at any time during employment
Education,

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred:
  • Bachelor's degree in health related field
  • Previous Critical Care Transport Experience
  • Previous Flight experience preferred
Licenses and Certifications

Required:
  • Current New Jersey or National Registry EMT-P Certification.
  • Flight Paramedic - Certified within 1 years of entering position.
  • BLS AHA Basic Health Care Life Support HCP Certification or BLS Instructor Trainer.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certification or ACLS Instructor Certification.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support Certification or PALS Instructor Certification.
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program within 1 years of entering position.
  • Certified Emergency Vehicle Operator or Emergency Vehicle Operator.
  • Advanced Trauma Life Support within 6 months of entering position or International Trauma Life Support Certification within 6 months of entering position or Transport Professional Advanced Trauma Course within 6 months of entering position or Prehospital Trauma Life Support Certification within 6 months of entering position or Tactical Combat Casualty Care within 6 months of entering position or Advanced Trauma Care for Nurses within 6 months of entering position.
  • Valid Driver's License from a USA state.
