Duties- Greet patients warmly and manage front desk operations with professionalism and efficiency
- Verify insurance coverage, perform insurance eligibility checks, and handle insurance verification processes
- Schedule patient appointments using electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, or eClinical Works
- Collect and process payments, including medical collections and billing procedures in compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Maintain accurate medical records by reviewing documentation, updating files, and ensuring proper filing of medical records using systems like Dentrix or Eaglesoft
- Assist with intake procedures, including patient registration, data entry, and updating health information management systems
- Support clinical staff by preparing care plans, reviewing documentation, and managing medical coding tasks such as CPT, ICD-9/10 coding for billing purposes
- Handle multi-line phone systems with excellent phone etiquette to answer inquiries promptly and professionally
- Perform clerical duties such as filing, data entry (including 10 key typing), and managing office supplies to ensure a well-organized clinic environment
- Support office management activities including appointment scheduling, patient follow-up calls, and maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, ICD coding (ICD-9/10), CPT coding, and medical billing processes
- Proficiency with EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, eClinical
Works or similar platforms - Experience with health information management software like Dentrix or Eaglesoft is highly desirable
- Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) for documentation review and administrative tasks
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations to ensure patient privacy and confidentiality at all times
- Bilingual abilities are a plus to serve diverse patient populations effectively
- Prior clinic or dental office experience is preferred to navigate the fast-paced healthcare environment confidently
- Exceptional customer service skills combined with professional phone etiquette to create a welcoming atmosphere for patients and visitors
- Ability to perform accurate data entry and maintain detailed records efficiently in a busy office setting
- Experience in insurance verification, medical collection processes, and understanding Medicare policies enhances your effectiveness in this role
