- Observes patient telemetry monitoring system and reports any abnormal responses promptly.
- Admits and discharges patients from the patient telemetry monitoring system.
- Runs rhythm strips from the patient telemetry monitoring system as per protocol.
- Monitors accurate functioning of the patient telemetry monitoring system (e.g., battery life, rhythm clarity, transmitter safety).
- Lifts a minimum of 5 lbs., pushes and pulls a minimum of 10 lbs. and stands a minimum of 6 hours a day.
- Identifies the needs of the patient population served and modifies and delivers care that is specific to those needs (e.g., age, culture, language, hearing and/or visually impaired). Communicates with the patient, parent, and/or primary caregiver(s) at their appropriate level.
Knowledge, Education and Skills Required
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 2 years experience in a health-related field.
- 1 year experience in the field or an associated field of cardiology.
- Successful completion of monitor technician course at any hospital facility.
- Successful passing rate on the HUMC Dysrhythmia Challenge Exam upon hire or within 6 months of hire.
- Exposure and experience in computers.
Starting at $21.84 hourly. Compensation is benchmarked against market data and adjusted for experience, education, certifications, skills, geographic location, internal equity, and budget.
