Position: Behavioral Assistant (Bergen County)

Our approach is rooted in evidence‑based practices, and our team of highly trained professionals is dedicated to providing individualized care for every client.

Behavioral Assistant (BA)

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide support in the home and community to both youth and caregivers
  • Implement treatment plans
  • Deliver services as directed by the supervising therapist, including:
    • Using evidence‑based interventions and positive reinforcement
    • Assist parents/guardians with treatment plan implementation
    • Collect, track, and report progression or regression (including graphs when required)
    • Submit accurate weekly clinical progress notes within 24 hours of service provision
    • Assist with caregiver/staff training under the guidance of a supervising therapist
    • Recognize, prevent, and intervene in crisis situations appropriately
    • Participate in required training and maintain compliance with all agency policies

Qualifications
  • Must complete the NJ CSOC Behavioral Assistant Certification within 6 months of hire
  • Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, or related field
  • 2–4 years of experience in behavioral healthcare, preferably working with children with developmental/intellectual disabilities or mental illness
  • Valid New Jersey Driver’s License
  • Must pass all state and federal background checks
  • A pre‑employment, post‑conditional job offer drug screen is required for this role
  • Bilingual candidates (especially Spanish‑speaking) encouraged to apply
  • Candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S. without current or future visa sponsorship. We are unable to sponsor H‑1B or other employment visas at this time
