- Receives and maintains accountability of investigational products (IP) in the Vestigo system.
- Assesses and maintains proper storage of IP.
- Prepares oral investigational products (IP) and intravenous IP in accordance with research protocol under direct supervision of a licensed Research Pharmacist.
- Maintains current inventory of IP and follows process to re‑order IP in advance of expiration.
- Assists the Research Pharmacist with close out of studies and appropriate accountability of investigational products.
- Assists the Pharmacy Coordinator with appropriate review of oncology product pre‑expiration stock rotation and appropriate preparation for reverse distribution.
- Maintains competency in preparing IV investigational admixtures.
- Assures that the filling areas are maintained in a neat and orderly manner.
- Refers requests for drug information to a registered pharmacist.
- Assists the pharmacist in maintaining the security of drug supplies.
- Assists with the distribution and delivery of medication to patient care areas as necessary.
- Provides appropriate documentation wherever and whenever required.
- Performs tasks associated with automated equipment and maintains appropriate records as designated.
- Complies with all state and federal regulations and Medical Center policies and procedures relating to drug dispensing, including appropriate handling of investigational drug products, adherence to security procedures, and completion of necessary documentation.
- Other duties and/or projects as assigned.
- Adheres to HMH Organizational competencies and standards of behavior.
Education,
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
- Minimum 1 year experience as a pharmacy technician in a hospital or home infusion setting.
Education,
Knowledge, Skills And Abilities Preferred:
- Hospital experience with knowledge of accountability and handling of investigational products.
- Successful completion of Citi Training or equivalent (will be required on site).
- Knowledge of unit dose dispensing and IV admixtures.
- Pharmacy Stars or equivalent sterile compounding competency (will be required on site).
Licenses And Certifications
Required:
- Pharmacy Technician License.
- PTCB Certified Pharmacy Technician or NHA Certified Pharmacy Tech (CPT or ExCPT).

Departmental budgets and any grant funding associated with the job position may impact the pay that can be offered.
Some jobs may also be eligible for performance‑based incentives, bonuses, or commissions not reflected in the starting rate. Certain positions may also be eligible for shift differentials for work performed on evening, night, or weekend shifts.
