Mammography Technologist

This is a 13-week contract position.

Shifts are from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, five days a week, with rotating weekends. No holidays or on-call duties required.

The Mammography Technologist is responsible for performing mammography examinations in compliance with ACR requirements. This role includes assisting with breast ultrasound, stereotactic biopsy, and other radiologic guided procedures performed within the Breast Center. The technologist will perform diagnostic and screening mammographic examinations for adult, adolescent, and geriatric patients in an expedient and professional manner.

Responsibilities:

• Perform mammographic imaging for breast needle localization procedures and stereotactic procedures, including setup and cleanup.
• Assist in procedures using ultrasound guidance and provide patient education, including BSE instruction.
• Document all pertinent patient information in the Breast Center chart and ensure correct identification of patient films.
• Complete patient requisitions with necessary details such as initials, date, number, and size of films.
• Assist with quality control procedures and maintain compliance with ACR, MQSA, NJ State, and FDA regulations.
• Identify and address the needs of diverse patient populations by adapting communication and care practices.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure:

• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Licensed Mammography Technologist.
• Must have ARRT certification and obtain mammography certification within the first three months of employment.
• Active Diagnostic Radiography License is required.
