Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) - ICU Experience Required

The Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) will provide and administer comprehensive respiratory care therapy and supportive equipment under the supervision of the Director of Respiratory Services. This position requires a commitment to patient care within the hospital setting, specifically for individuals with cardiopulmonary deficiencies. The role demands effective collaboration with medical personnel and requires a willingness to float to various adult ICU areas, intermediate care, and basic intermediate care floors.

Responsibilities
  • Provide respiratory therapy under medical direction, focusing on education, treatment, management, and diagnostic evaluation of patients with cardiopulmonary system deficiencies.
  • Assist with intubation and perform ventilator set-up and management.
  • Collect all necessary information to evaluate patient needs, including disease education and consultations with other healthcare professionals.
  • Establish rapport and mutual respect with patients/caregivers and team members to foster an optimal care environment.
  • Document and provide education to patients/caregivers based on identified needs in an understandable manner.
  • Perform other assigned duties and projects as needed.
  • Adhere to organizational competencies and standards of behavior, including physical demands such as lifting and standing for designated periods.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
  • Minimum 1 year of recent experience working as a licensed Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) required.
  • At least 1 year of ICU experience required.
  • Previous experience with ventilator management required.
  • Must be willing to float to adult ICU areas, intermediate care, and basic intermediate care floor.
Schedule

This is a 12-hour shift position with guaranteed hours of 36 per week.
