Employee Relations, Talent Manager, HR Manager, Regulatory Compliance Specialist
Salary Range: $80,000–$90,000 base + benefits
Position OverviewThe Employee Relations Manager serves as a trusted advisor to leadership and employees, ensuring fair, consistent, and compliant handling of employee relations matters. This role focuses on workplace investigations, policy interpretation, performance and conduct issues, and manager coaching, while partnering closely with HR leadership to mitigate risk and promote a positive employee experience.
This position is ideal for an ER professional with hands‑on investigation experience who thrives in a fast‑paced, people‑centric environment.
Key Responsibilities Employee Relations & Investigations- Manage and conduct employee relations investigations from intake through resolution, including performance issues, misconduct, policy violations, and workplace complaints
- Ensure investigations are timely, thorough, well‑documented, and compliant with employment laws and internal policies
- Provide clear recommendations and guidance to leadership based on findings
- Coach managers on performance management, corrective action, conflict resolution, and employee communications
- Serve as a point of escalation for sensitive employee concerns, balancing business needs with employee advocacy
- Promote consistent application of HR policies and employment practices
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws (including NJ‑specific regulations)
- Partner with HR leadership and legal counsel as needed on complex or high‑risk cases
- Identify trends in employee relations issues and recommend proactive solutions
- Support or deliver training to managers on employee relations best practices and respectful workplace standards
- Maintain accurate case documentation and reporting
- Contribute to continuous improvement of ER processes and tools
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
- 3–6 years of progressive experience in Employee Relations, HR Generalist, or HR Business Partner roles
- Hands‑on experience conducting employee investigations
- Working knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices
- Strong judgment, discretion, and ability to manage confidential matters
Preferred:
- Experience supporting multi‑site or hourly populations
- Familiarity with FMLA, ADA, and leave‑related employee relations issues
