Responsibilities

  • Facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open warehouse/transportation positions; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
  • Onboarding of warehouse employees and drivers which includes all new hire / rehire paperwork, I9 verification and WOTC compliance.
  • Completes Forms I-9, verifies I-9 documentation and maintains I-9 files.
  • Conduct new hire orientation in English and/or Spanish.
  • Answer routine questions from applicants about employment procedures.
  • Accurately maintain employee files.
  • Assists with processing of termination paperwork.
  • Implement company culture, core values and policies.
  • Performs customer service functions by answering employee requests and questions.
  • Assist with employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
  • Assist with HR policy interpretation and basic benefits inquiries.
  • Assist with annual open enrollment.
  • Assist with all company employee related events.
  • Perform other clerical duties in support of the Human Resources Department as required or assigned
Education
  • Bachelor's degree in human resources or related field and/or equivalent experience.
  • 2+ years of Human Resources experience in a fast-paced environment required.
Experience
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
  • Working understanding of human resource principles, practices, and procedures.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
  • Knowledge of labor and employment laws
  • Strong onboarding background
  • Ability to work independently and think a few steps ahead.
  • Ability to interact with employees and management at all levels, manage confidential issues and information with discretion.
  • Ability to write in a clear and concise manner.
  • Total discretion and respect for confidentiality of data and decision-making.
  • Ability to maintain a professional demeanor under pressure and operate with a keen sense of urgency and commitment to quality.
