What You'll Do:As a Principal Member of Technical Staff (PMTS), you will drive the research, development, and implementation of innovative technologies in support of AT&T's mission to connect people and businesses worldwide. This role demands strong technical expertise across multiple disciplines, the ability to tackle highly complex projects, and leadership in guiding teams and solving critical business challenges with significant impact on company programs and customer service quality.
WhatYou'll Bring:
- Contribute to the advancement of next-generation technologies and platforms, primarily impacting internal AT&T initiatives.
- Analyze, design, and implement solutions for projects of high complexity, requiring in-depth evaluation of intangible factors.
- Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and act as a subject matter expert within the organization.
- Drive efficiency improvements, cost savings, and innovation across the network.
- Lead or contribute to resolving major issues in both legacy and evolving architectures (including virtual network functions and white box technologies).
- Deep understanding of IP, MPLS, SR and Traffic Engineering (TE) technologies.
- Apply statistical and analytical skills to dissect complex Service Provider issues.
- Innovate with legacy and emerging architectures, including virtualized and white box environments.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience in the following areas (not exhaustive):
- IP Routing Protocols: MPLS, Segment-routing, BGP, OSPF, ISIS, RSVP, Multicast, VLAN, L2/L3 VPNs, EVPN, SNMP, Telemetry.
- Networking Technologies: TCP/UDP, VxLAN, NAT, DNS, QoS, BGP Flow Spec, Network Security, Netflow, and more.
- Dev Ops: Experience supporting the lifecycle, design, and planning for technology innovation and network operations.
- Network Design: LAN/WAN, cloud networks, telecom and security architectures, SDN design, Excellent network troubleshooting skills, Data analysis skills.
- Certifications: Platform and cloud vendor certifications are a plus.
Skills:
- Scripting/automation:
Python, Shell, C, Java. - Test equipment: IXIA, Spirent, and similar tools.
- Dev Ops tools:
Ansible, Jenkins, Git, Jira.
