Position Overview

The Business Systems Analyst (BSA) will work five days a week on‑site in Somerset, NJ.

The Business Systems Analyst (BSA) serves as a critical liaison between business stakeholders and IT teams, ensuring that technology solutions effectively support business processes and strategic objectives. This role is responsible for eliciting, analyzing, documenting, and validating business and system requirements, translating them into functional specifications, and supporting the delivery, testing, and continuous improvement of enterprise applications.

The Business Systems Analyst works closely with business leaders, developers, and support teams to improve system functionality, optimize workflows, and ensure solutions are scalable, secure, and aligned with organizational goals.

Key Responsibilities Business Analysis & Requirements Management
  • Partner with business stakeholders to understand business processes, pain points, and objectives.
  • Elicit, analyze, and document business, functional, and non‑functional requirements.
  • Translate business needs into clear functional specifications and user stories.
  • Facilitate requirements workshops, stakeholder interviews, and process‑mapping sessions.
  • Ensure requirements are complete, accurate, traceable, and aligned with business goals.
Systems & Application Support
  • Act as a subject matter expert for assigned business systems and applications.
  • Analyze system capabilities and recommend enhancements or process improvements.
  • Support application configuration, upgrades, and integrations as needed.
  • Collaborate with technical teams to ensure solutions meet documented requirements.
  • Assist in evaluating and selecting software solutions when applicable.
Testing & Implementation
  • Develop and execute test plans, test cases, and UAT scenarios.
  • Coordinate and support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) with business users.
  • Validate system changes prior to production deployment.
  • Support go‑live activities and post‑implementation stabilization.
Documentation & Communication
  • Create and maintain business process documentation, system diagrams, and training materials.
  • Communicate effectively between business and technical teams.
  • Provide regular status updates, risk identification, and issue resolution support.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, audit requirements, and change management processes.
Continuous Improvement
  • Identify opportunities to streamline processes and improve system efficiency.
  • Support data‑driven decision‑making through analysis and reporting.
  • Promote best practices for system usage, documentation, and governance.
Other Important Responsibilities
  • Handles related email and telephone correspondence in a timely and professional manner.
  • Responds to inquiries for the purpose of resolving problems, providing information and/or referring to appropriate personnel.
  • Will be required to perform other job functions, as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience as a Business Systems Analyst, Business Analyst, or similar role.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Business Administration, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Strong experience gathering and documenting business and system requirements.
  • Solid understanding of SDLC methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid).
  • Experience with Git Hub, Azure Dev Ops, Jira, Confluence, or Figma a plus.
  • Experience working with enterprise applications (ERP, CRM, financial, manufacturing, or supply chain systems preferred).
  • Familiarity with data concepts, reporting tools, or SQL preferred.
  • Knowledge of change management and internal control environments.
  • Prior experience in manufacturing, financial services, or regulated environments preferred.
  • Excellent problem‑solving skills.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
