Job Title: Litigation Associate (Commercial / Civil / Business Disputes)
Location: Hackensack, NJ (Hybrid)
About the Role:
Our law firm client, a well-established New Jersey law firm, is seeking a Litigation Associate with experience in Commercial Litigation, Civil Litigation, or Business Disputes to join its growing practice. This role offers hands-on litigation experience, direct client interaction, and meaningful responsibility from day one.
Responsibilities:
- Handle all phases of litigation, from inception through trial and appeal
- Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and discovery requests/responses
- Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda
- Take and defend depositions
- Appear in court for hearings, conferences, and oral arguments
- Manage case strategy and client communications
- Collaborate with partners and senior attorneys on complex matters
Qualifications:
- 4+ years of litigation experience in Commercial Litigation, Civil Litigation, or Business Disputes
- Strong research, writing, and analytical skills
- Experience handling discovery and motion practice independently
- Courtroom experience preferred
- Licensed and in good standing in New Jersey (New York admission is a plus)
- Ability to manage multiple matters in a fast-paced environment
Salary and Other Compensation:
The annual salary for this position is between $150,000 – $190,000 annually. Factors which may affect pay within this range include geography/market, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
