Position: Porter - Floater - Evening Hours

Primary Function

Responsible for cleaning contracted buildings and office space.

North Jersey Friendship House is seeking a part‑time Porter Floater, who will be responsible for covering various locations, as well as cover when someone is out. The Porter Floater will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks to ensure occupants a clean and safe environment. The shift is Monday through Friday (5‑9 pm), with weekend flexibility. Must be able to work weekends when needed.

The ideal candidate must be friendly, a self‑starter, and able to take direction well.

Essential Functions

Clean and maintain the cleanliness of offices, classrooms and lobby floors, windows, doors and walls.

Clean and maintain the cleanliness of restrooms; includes floors, sinks, counters, commodes and fixtures.

Clean and maintain the cleanliness of elevators and/or stairwells.

Monitor the interior and exterior of the building and grounds to keep common areas free of debris.

Empty garbage containers in common areas, offices, classrooms, and restrooms ensuring general areas are free of litter.

May perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Minimum 1 year of previous maintenance / janitorial experience.
Ability to handle multiple projects.
Must have a valid driver's license and transportation.
The Porter Floater will use an agency vehicle to drive to and from individual work sites.

Schedule

Monday to Friday (5‑9 pm);
Saturday (10 am – 4 pm)
Weekend availability
