Maintenance Worker, Building Maintenance, Maintenance Technician ​/ Mechanic

Primary Functions

Responsible for performing a variety of maintenance and repair tasks to ensure our facilities remain in excellent condition. This role requires someone with attention to detail, and the ability to work independently. Must have the ability to oversee Facility repairs and general maintenance tasks, coordinate vehicle service as well as other assigned special projects.

• Experience as a maintenance technician, or in a similar maintenance role.
• Knowledge of general building maintenance
• Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, and carpentry systems.
• Ability to operate hand and power tools safely and effectively.
• Basic understanding of HVAC systems (changing belts, filters etc.)
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
• Basic understanding of automobile maintenance to assist in simple routine checks and drops offs to and from service appointments, etc.

• Perform general maintenance and repairs, including plumbing, electrical, and carpentry work.
• Install, repair, and replace flooring, doors, windows, and fixtures.
• Conduct routine inspections to identify and address maintenance needs.
• Paint and patch walls, ceilings, and other surfaces as needed.
• Maintain and repair appliances, and mechanical equipment.
• Assist with landscaping and exterior maintenance tasks.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergency repairs.
• Keep work areas clean and organized, ensuring safety standards are met.
• Conduct quarterly vehicle checks and coordinate service appointments.
• Works towards the accomplishment of department/Agency goals.
• Attends all scheduled meetings assigned.
• Meets relevant continuing educational/training requirements.

Monday - Friday 9 a.m.

- 3 p.m. (5.5 hour work day with a half hour lunch)

• High school diploma or equivalent; additional certifications are a plus.

• Minimum 3 years' experience in maintenance, or a related field.
• Must have a clean and valid active NJ driver's license.
