Operations Manager, Program / Project Manager
Our client is seeking an experienced facilities management leader to oversee operations at a large, complex infrastructure facility in Essex County, NJ. The ideal candidate excels in managing high‑volume, technically sophisticated environments and has a strong background in coordinating both internal and external vendors. Responsibilities- Lead the Technical Services team and oversee all facility operations, maintenance, and building systems
- Manage design, testing, and commissioning of new systems
- Develop and monitor budgets, maintenance programs, and smart‑technology initiatives
- Negotiate and manage service contracts, ensuring high-quality delivery from internal teams and external providers
- Serve as the primary point of contact for stakeholders including internal and external leadership and operational partners
- Direct lifecycle asset management activities and implement predictive maintenance through systems such as SCADA and MAXIMO
- Oversee financial approvals, HR duties, staff development, and performance management
- Coordinate maintenance activities and ensure all work is documented, compliant, and aligned with operational needs
- Introduce innovation and continuous improvement to enhance efficiency and reduce costs
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field; advanced degrees preferred
- 10 to 15 years of progressive facilities management or technical operations experience in complex environments
- Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, lifecycle asset management, and predictive maintenance
- Proficiency with SCADA and MAXIMO
- Proven success leading multidisciplinary teams and managing both in‑house and outsourced resources
- Strong communication, analytical, and decision‑making skills with the ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced operational environment
