Accounting Supervisor

A private insurance company in Parsippany is seeking a highly skilled, competent, and technically strong accounting professional to lead a team of corporate accountants. This position is fully on-site Mon-Fri.

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Corporate Accounting Manager to lead our accounting operations and drive financial excellence. This individual will play a critical role in supporting the Accounting Director by overseeing daily core accounting functions, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and managing a high‑performing accounting team. The ideal candidate combines strong technical accounting expertise with proven leadership capabilities and a passion for developing talent.

• Lead and manage the corporate accounting team, including hiring, coaching, and performance development
• Oversee the daily operations of the accounting team
• Oversee the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes to ensure accuracy and timeliness
• Review and approve journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statements
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal accounting policies
• Partner cross-functionally with finance, FP&A, tax, data, and stakeholders
• Drive process improvements, automation, and scalability within the accounting function
• Maintain and enhance internal controls and ensure SOX compliance (if applicable)
• Support audits by preparing schedules and coordinating with external auditors
• Analyze financial data and provide insights to senior leadership
• Assist with special projects, system implementations, and strategic initiatives
• Assist with presenting to senior leadership quarterly and annual financials

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is required
• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role
• Experience managing a team of accountants is required
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting requirements
• Experience managing and developing accounting teams
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills
• Strong communication skills with the ability to influence and collaborate across departments
• Experience with ERP systems (e.g., Net Suite, SAP, Oracle, etc.)
• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365, Net Suite or Oracle highly preferred
• Advanced proficiency in Excel and financial systems
• Excellent communication skills both written and verbal in English
• Must be willing to work fully on-site in Morris County
