• Position is in office five days a week in Middlesex County, NJ. Company pays two bonuses a year and 100% of employee's medical insurance.

Soft home goods company (think table runners, comforters, sheets, towels, etc.) is looking to add an experienced Director of Production
. Must have experience in soft home goods production. The position is hands on and requires travel to Asian factories. The Director will manage the Production, lead a team, work cross functionally with Sales, Product Development and Design, and work with the factories to manage the production flow for new and existing orders. Strong price negotiation skills are essential in the role.

Experience ensuring quality and meeting delivery dates on orders on time is paramount for a strong performance.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee all production across multiple factories in different countries.
• Successfully manage production activities so all orders are shipped on time.
• Manage production staff, including scheduling, coaching, and evaluating performance.
• Develop production schedules according to deadlines for existing orders and sales forecasting.
• Negotiate to reduce cost prices from factories.
• Present updated order and production status reports to sales staff and management.
• Develop and implement cost controls and other expense reduction measures.
• Handle quality issues and initiated remedial actions promptly.
• Recommend and execute quality improvements for production and product quality.
• Investigate and implement ideas for increased productivity and cost reduction.
• Maintain and communicate daily productivity and shipment reports for all departments.
• Track trends and suggested enhancements that would both challenge and refine the company’s product offerings.

Qualifications:

• Must have production experience in the soft home goods sector. Major plus if you have experience with kitchen, table and bath textile products/production.
• Minimum of 10 years of in-depth production experience and have managed a team.
• Experience with Walmart production a big plus.
• 4-6 years of experience traveling to factories in Asia to work with them.
• Experience working with major retailers and their production orders.
• Existing relationships with overseas vendors
