Permanent position for a Machine Shop Manager to manage all operations of a manufacturing facility producing rotating equipment.
Responsibilities- Lead machining, assembly, and welding staff on the machine shop floor.
- Capacity planning for the machine shop and test areas.
- Budgeting and forecasting for headcount, spend, inventory, and capital outlay.
- Manage the supply chain from vendor qualification through contract negotiation.
- Direct production scheduling, preventive maintenance, and ongoing process improvement.
- Track jobs and floor transactions through the ERP.
- Lead Lean implementation.
- Provide cost estimates supporting sales and engineering.
- Work hours at this facility are from 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM.
- Engineering degree or equivalent hands‑on machine shop experience.
- Minimum 10 years supervising a precision machine shop.
- Working knowledge of CAD/CAM, CNC, and manual machine tools.
- Fluent reading engineering drawings and specifications.
- Proven root cause analysis and corrective action skills.
- Experience operating under ISO or MIL-spec quality systems.
- Familiarity with ASME weld/pressure‑vessel codes and casting QC a plus.
