Yellow Wood Partners is a Boston-based private investment firm that invests exclusively in the consumer industry. The firm seeks to acquire branded consumer products that sell into a variety of consumer channels, including mass, drug, food, specialty, value, club and e-commerce. Position Summary
The Marketing Manager is responsible for developing and executing the annual marketing plan for the Caress brand across body wash and bar soap. This includes managing our national plans for paid media, PR, consumer promotions, social media, and paid influencers. The Marketing Manager will work closely with the Innovation and Equity team to set the strategy for creative assets and ensure content meets business needs, and with the sales team to ensure national marketing plans complement actions in key retailers and vice versa.
They will also manage the Social & Community Manager in developing and deploying the brand’s social media strategy including content calendar and asset creation. The Marketing Manager is also responsible for the Brand P&L including leading the monthly forecasting process, managing the brand budget and driving initiatives to improve the P&L through price optimization, mix assortment, and SKU rationalization. This person will use KPIs, business performance data, industry trends, competitor intelligence and customer information to make data-based recommendations.
Responsibilities
- Develop annual marketing plan that lives into business strategy and financials, and continually optimize throughout the year
- Manage execution of full year marketing plan including paid, PR, consumer promotions, social, and influencers
- Develop communication and content strategy
- Brief Innovation & Equity team to develop exceptional creative and ensure consumer-facing material on strategy
- Manage media buying, PR, influencer, and social agencies
- Develop go-to-market plans for innovation items
- Manage presence on and to ensure visual consistency and content accuracy
- Support Sr Director, Marketing in provide storytelling support for retailer presentations
- React & adapt to in-market performance based on insights from strategy and analytics team
- Set and track against marketing KPIs
- Manage Social & Community Manager, responsible for developing the social content calendar, post creation, community management, and influencer strategy and execution
- 5+ years Marketing & Business experience, with emphasis in P&L management and Integrated Marketing, and preference for experience working in a startup company environment
- BA in marketing/communications/business (or equivalent experience)
- Strong understanding of brand and marketing fundamentals – marketing planning, messaging frameworks, content strategy, content calendars, PR/Events, influencer, digital comms
- Proven experience translating business strategy to marketing strategy, synthesizing data and insights
- Proficient at writing crisp, inspiring creative briefs that lead to consistent and beautiful creative
- Ability to plan a marketing budget consistent with the business strategy and track to it
- Ability to set marketing goals, track against them, and continually optimize programs
