ABOUT YES, M.I.S.S. INC.
Yes, M.I.S.S. Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to preparing young women ages 14–21 for success in higher education and the workforce. We connect them with working professionals through networking luncheons, mock interviews, company site visits, college tours, and career readiness workshops across Northern New Jersey - and growing.
We are in an exciting growth phase. By end of 2026, we are building the operational infrastructure to scale from one school partner to many. This role is central to that mission.
THE OPPORTUNITYUntil now, the Executive Director has personally run every event. We are building a three-person volunteer leadership team - function owners who hold key areas of the organization for a full 12-month commitment so that the program can grow beyond one person.
As Program Coordinator, you will own everything that happens from the moment an event is confirmed to the moment the last student leaves the room. You will also supervise the Operations Intern who supports your work day-to-day.
WHAT YOU'LL OWN- End-to-end coordination of Yes, M.I.S.S. Inc.’s annual program events, including:
Skill Build Her Networking Luncheon, Mock Interview Challenge, Scholarship Pageant, three company site visits, three college tours, and one in-person professional development workshop - Pre-event logistics: school confirmations, space setup, materials, registration, volunteer check-in coordination
- Day-of facilitation: running the room, keeping the program on schedule, managing the run-of-show
- Post-event wrap: survey distribution, data capture, volunteer thank-you communications, school debrief
- Building and maintaining the annual program calendar in coordination with the Executive Director
- Onboarding and day-to-day supervision of the Operations Intern and Youth Empowerment Workshop Intern
- Building and maintaining the event playbook for each program so any future coordinator can run it
- A professional with project management or event coordination experience
- Someone who is calm under pressure, highly organized, and loves the energy of live events
- A natural leader who can direct volunteers and keep a room of students engaged
- Someone who is passionate about youth development and equity in career access
- Experience working with high school or college-age youth is a plus but not required
Commitment: 12 months (renewable)
Hours: 10–12 hours per week
Location: Primarily remote; in-person required for all program events in Northern NJ, which this role will oversee on-site
Reports to: Shanita Perdomo, Executive Director
Supervises: Operations Intern, Youth Empowerment Workshop Intern
Compensation: This is a volunteer leadership role. There is the possibility of compensation as grant funding and organizational capacity allow.
WHAT YOU GAIN- The experience of building a scalable program from the inside
- A reference letter from the Executive Director upon completion
- Recognition at Yes, M.I.S.S. Inc. events and in organizational communications
