Overview
Nurse Practitioner – Neurosurgery (In-Office) - Great pay and benefits. Non-rotating, fixed schedule. Office-based NP/PA role within a neurosurgical practice designed to support attending physicians and the APP team.
Responsibilities- Provide in-office clinical and operational support
- Assist physicians during clinic sessions to enhance patient flow and efficiency
- Support and collaborate with the existing midlevel provider team
- Improve daily clinic operations and overall efficiency
- Contribute to workflow optimization and process improvement initiatives
- Obtain and document comprehensive patient histories and physical examinations
- Independently evaluate patients, order and interpret appropriate diagnostic studies, develop and implement treatment plans for brain and spine conditions
- Manage post-operative neurosurgical patients, including incision assessment and monitoring, VP shunt evaluation and adjustment when clinically indicated, suture and staple removal, medication titration and tapering
- Triage and manage patient phone calls; secure electronic messages
- Provide clinical guidance, coordinate care, and escalate concerns as appropriate
- Prescribing authority to be determined
- Four (4) days per week
- Workdays Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday
- Hours 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.; 30-minute unpaid lunch break
- Total daily hours 8.5
- Compensation $68/hour, negotiable based on experience and qualifications
- PTO accrual 96 hours annually
- National board certification
- Active state licensure
- Required continuing education
- Demonstrate a commitment to ongoing professional development
- Interpersonal and communication skills; strong clinical judgment
- Willingness to learn, collaborate, and educate others
- Hospital credentialing to begin upon acceptance of the position
- Role structured to support readiness for future expansion of responsibilities
- Work collaboratively with attending neurosurgeons, Advanced Practice Nurses, and clinical/administrative staff
Minimum of eight (8) weeks’ written notice required in the event of resignation to support continuity of care and smooth transition of responsibilities.
