Hackensack, New Jersey.
The Registered Nurse functions as a caregiver for a specific patient population to achieve desired outcomes. This position focuses on expanding knowledge and skills, provides effective direct care as part of the interdisciplinary team to a variety of complex patients. This position directs and oversees the care provided by other caregivers through delegation, validation, evaluation, and coordination. Coordinates patient care and unit activities among nursing peers, physicians, and support services.
Responsibilities- Delivery of nursing practices according to up-to-date evidence-based research, nursing policies, and standards of care to ensure safe and individualized patient care.
- Assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care; data collection pertinent to health or situation.
- Perform age- and disease-specific assessments, recognize clinical and diagnostic status changes, and develop and coordinate a care plan.
- Communicate and coordinate the plan of care with patients, families, nursing colleagues, and other health care team members.
- Provide or coordinate patient/family education; document care and outcomes; adhere to established protocols.
- Provide nursing care and treatments reflecting patient needs, advocating appropriately and applying evidence-based practice.
- Coordinate discharge planning and ensure safe transitioning and continuum of care.
- Maintain competencies, certifications, and continuing education to meet facility accreditation or licensing requirements.
- Adhere to American Nurses Association Code for Nurses with Interpretive Statements and organizational competencies.
- Lift at least 35 lbs, push/pull at least 10 lbs, and stand for extended periods as required.
- Associate degree in Nursing or Nursing diploma; BSN in progress with plan to complete within three years of hire.
- Current and valid RN license to practice in New Jersey by date of hire.
- BLS/CPR certification by American Heart Association (within 60 days of hire).
- 2+ years of Labor and Delivery experience.
- National Certification in area of specialty preferred when eligible.
Minimum rate of $47.64 hourly. The posted rate is a good-faith minimum base pay estimate at the time of posting and may reflect eligibility for pay equity and market-competitive total rewards. Shift differentials and performance-based incentives may apply where eligible.
