Registered Nurse - Emergency Department - Per Diem Nights

About This Role

The Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department provides comprehensive patient care through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. This role is ideal for individuals who thrive in fast-paced environments and are dedicated to delivering high-quality care.

• Location: Hackensack, NJ
• Facility: Hackensack Meridian Health
• Department/Unit: Emergency Department
• Schedule: Per Diem, Night shift

• Collect comprehensive data pertinent to the patient's health or situation.
• Perform age and disease-specific assessments independently.
• Recognize clinical and diagnostic status changes in patient status.
• Develop a plan of care that prescribes strategies and interventions.
• Communicate, coordinate, and implement the plan of care.
• Provide ongoing communication with patient/family and healthcare team.
• Implement age and disease-specific care in an organized manner.
• Perform continuous Point-of-Care electronic documentation.
• Administer medications utilizing advancements in bar-scanning technology.
• Evaluate progress toward attainment of outcomes.

Education:

• Associate in Nursing or diploma of Nursing degree required
• BSN in progress and/or willing to acquire within three (3) years of hire

Experience:

• Six (6) months of relevant nursing experience OR participation in Nurse Residency Program

Licenses &

Certifications:

• Current and valid Registered Nurse license in New Jersey
• BLS/CPR certification by American Heart Association required within 60 days of hire
• National Certification in area of specialty preferred when eligible
