The Joseph M. Sanzari Children's Hospital Level IIIC Nicu At Hackensack University Medical Center Neonatology Nurse Practitioner Or Physician Assistant Utilizes A Patient-Centered Coordinated Care Model, Demonstrating Competencies In Leadership, Direct Clinical Practice, Consultation/Collaboration, Coaching/Guiding, Research, And Ethical Decision-Making. The APN Works Collaboratively With The Practice/Hospital Team To Assess, Plan, And Implement Care For Individuals With Health And Safety Needs.
Part-Time (20 Hrs/Week) Position Weekends As Needed Holiday Work As Needed On-Call Commitment Required
Apns Must Have Nnp Cert. Pa's Must Have Either Nicu Fellowship Or Prior Neonatal Experience.
The Hackensack University Medical Center (Humc) Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (Nicu) Operates A 48-Bed, State-Designated Regional Perinatal Center At The Joseph M. Sanzari Children's Hospital (Opens In New Window) In Hackensack, Nj. The Unit Offers Specialized Services Including Whole-Body Cooling, High-Frequency Ventilation, And Is The First In New Jersey To Earn Disease-Specific Care Certification In Prematurity Care.
Responsibilities Include Performing And Documenting Accurate, Complete, And Relevant History And Physical Assessments Appropriate For The Patient's Age, Gender, And Clinical Problem. Ordering, Performing, And Interpreting Laboratory Tests And Diagnostic Studies/Procedures In Collaboration With Physicians And Consultants As Appropriate. Managing General Medical And Surgical Conditions Based On Comprehensive Knowledge Of Etiologies, Risk Factors, Pathophysiology, And The Indications And Contraindications Of Pharmacologic Agents And Other Treatment Modalities.
Prescribing Medication Safely And Effectively In Accordance With Best Practices, Hospital Policy, And Nj Regulations, Providing Patient Education As Needed.
Qualifications Include Graduate Of An Nln/Aacn Accredited Nursing Program. Master's Or Doctorate Degree From An Accredited Nurse Practitioner Program. Maintains Clinical Competencies Through Continuing Education And Clinical Practice. Experience In A Relevant Patient Care Setting (Or As Regulations Dictate). National Provider Identifier (Npi). Prescriptive Authority Through Cds And Dea Registration According To New Jersey State Law. Collaborative Agreement With Physicians On Staff.
Excellent Written And Verbal Communication Skills. Proficient Computer Skills That Include But Are Not Limited To Microsoft Office And/Or Google Suite Platforms.
Compensation Minimum Rate Of $84,406.40 Annually
