Per Diem Day Nurse Practitioner Or Physician Assistant
Hiring a per diem DAY Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant with experience in Emergency Room, RRT, Critical Care Medicine or Inpatient Medicine.
The Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) or Physician Assistant utilizes a patient-centered coordinated care model, demonstrating competencies in leadership, direct clinical practice, consultation/collaboration, coaching/guiding, research, and ethical decision-making. The APN works collaboratively with the practice/hospital team to assess, plan, and implement care for individuals with health and safety needs.
Responsibilities include performing and documenting accurate, complete, and relevant history and physical assessments, ordering and interpreting laboratory tests and diagnostic studies/procedures, managing general medical and surgical conditions, prescribing medication safely and effectively, seeking opportunities to promote practice recognition, providing patient- and family-centered care, adhering to nursing protocols and standards of care, applying evidence-based and value-based medicine, evaluating patient/family transition of care planning, demonstrating clinical expertise through advanced assessment and procedural skills, participating in annual APN peer review, providing culturally sensitive and educationally appropriate health management education to patients and families, facilitating consistent, coordinated care and clear communication among all members of the healthcare team, serving as an advocate for patients and families, participating in clinical research activities, adhering to the legal framework and scope of practice defined by the NJ Division of Consumer Affairs, complying with HMH and department-specific scope of services, policies and procedures, and other duties and/or projects as assigned.
Qualifications include a graduate of an NLN/AACN accredited nursing program, a Master's or Doctorate degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program, maintaining clinical competencies through continuing education and clinical practice, experience in a relevant patient care setting, a National Provider Identifier (NPI), prescriptive authority through CDS and DEA registration according to New Jersey state law, a collaborative agreement with physicians on staff, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and proficient computer skills that include but are not limited to Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite platforms.
Required qualifications include successful completion of a Physician Assistant program accredited by the AMA Council on Medical Education, current, unrestricted Physician Assistant License, Certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA), current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA), and AHA Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
Compensation minimum rate of $79.23 Hourly.
