Registered Nurse - Critical Care Float Pool - Per Diem

About This Role

The Registered Nurse in the Critical Care Float Pool provides direct care to a variety of complex patients, focusing on achieving desired outcomes through effective communication and coordination with the healthcare team. This per-diem position is ideal for nurses looking to expand their skills in a dynamic environment.

• Location: Hackensack, NJ
• Facility: Hackensack Meridian Health
• Schedule: Per Diem, Day shift

• Collect comprehensive data pertinent to the patient's health or situation.
• Perform age and disease-specific assessments independently.
• Recognize clinical and diagnostic status changes in patient status.
• Develop a plan of care with strategies and interventions to attain expected outcomes.
• Communicate, coordinate, and implement the plan of care.
• Provide ongoing communication with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
• Administer medications utilizing advancements in bar-scanning and documentation technologies.
• Evaluate progress toward attainment of outcomes.
• Initiate interventions related to changes in patient condition.
• Adhere to established protocols and document events accurately.

• Education:
  • Associate in Nursing or diploma of Nursing degree required
  • BSN in progress or willingness to acquire within three (3) years of hire
• Experience:
  • Six (6) months of relevant nursing experience or participation in Hackensack Meridian Health's Nurse Residency Program
• Licenses &
  
  Certifications:
  • Current and valid Registered Nurse license in New Jersey
  • BLS/CPR certification by American Heart Association required within 60 days of hire
  • National Certification in area of specialty preferred when eligible
