Registered Nurse - Med​/Surg - Elder Care

About This Role

The Registered Nurse functions as a caregiver for a specific patient population to achieve desired outcomes. This role is ideal for individuals who are dedicated to providing effective direct care as part of an interdisciplinary team.

• Location: Hackensack, NJ
• Facility: Hackensack Meridian Health
• Schedule: Part-time, Day shift

• Collect comprehensive data pertinent to the patient's health or situation.
• Perform age and disease specific assessment/data collection independently.
• Recognize clinical and diagnostic status changes in patient status.
• Identify variables in patient/family education needs based on age and disease.
• Develop a plan of care that prescribes strategies and interventions.
• Communicate, coordinate, and implement the plan of care.
• Provide ongoing communication with patient/family and healthcare team.
• Implement age and disease specific care in an organized manner.
  
  Perform continuous Point-of-Care electronic documentation.
• Administer medications utilizing advancements in bar-scanning technology.

• Associate in Nursing or diploma of Nursing degree required; BSN in progress or willingness to acquire within three years preferred.

• Six months of relevant nursing experience or participation in Hackensack Meridian Health's Nurse Residency Program required.

• Current and valid Registered Nurse license in New Jersey required by date of hire.
• BLS/CPR certification by American Heart Association required within 60 days of hire.
• National Certification in area of specialty preferred when eligible.
