Clinical Research RN - Oncology - Per Diem

About This Role

The Clinical Research Nurse is responsible for coordinating and overseeing clinical research operations for assigned clinical trials. This role is ideal for those with a strong clinical background and a passion for advancing healthcare through research.

• Assist the principal investigator in preparing proposed clinical trials.
• Ensure timely submission of protocol revisions and informed consents to the IRB.
• Act as liaison between principal investigators and sub-investigators on regulatory issues.
• Participate in the review of studies for feasibility and evaluate potential competition.
• Recruit and evaluate potential study patients, scheduling required appointments.
• Modify and deliver care specific to patient needs, communicating effectively.
• Instruct patients and caregivers on aspects of care and available trials.
• Document study patients' medical history per protocol guidelines.
• Perform nursing assessments and monitor patients' progress during trials.
• Coordinate research activities, including scheduling laboratory and medical exams.

• Education: BSN required (minimum of an associate in Nursing or diploma for those hired before March 31, 2024).
• Experience: Minimum of 3 years clinical nursing experience or 1 year of clinical nursing experience with an additional 2 years of clinical research experience.

  Certifications:
  
  Current NJ State Professional Registered Nurse License.
• BLS AHA Basic Health Care Life Support HCP Certification within 60 days of entering position.
• National Certification in area of specialty preferred when eligible.
